I'd Like to Thank the Academy...

Confession: I thought this was some kind of funky coffee table ornament when I kept seeing it on people's blogs.

So, I confess. I saw this lovely little statuette on a few pages, and thought to myself, that looks like something that would have adorned my Grandmother's living room shelf. She had a taste for things that looked uncannily like this. I've since come to find out that this is actually an award. One that is passed from blogger to blogger in recognition of their work. Very cool. What's cooler is that I received one.

Andrea at My Autism Insights nominated me for this award. I was, to say the least, shocked. Andrea has a really well written blog that deals with being "a typical mom of a not so typical kid." This would be her 7 year old son, who has Asperger's Syndrome. Please check her out.

And now I too must pass the torch, er, the gilded statuette. There are so many cool blogs that I stalk read regularly, that I'd like to pass it to. But I am limited to just 5. I am always leary about passing these things on. What if the blogger thinks they are too cool for these bloggy awards? Or maybe I am just too much of a huge cowardly dork to try to give it to them. So, I'll stick with moms who's blogs I know are friendly and approachable in addition to their great content. I bestow this precious award upon the following:

Kidzarama - Jane has a great layout, funny and helpful content, and it doesn't hurt that she does her blogging from the opposite side of the earth!

Deadlines and Diapers- Pauline has not one but two blogs that I enjoy hanging around at. She just had an awesome blog party, which I pretty much missed the entire thing. But this award is in no way bestowed out of my guilt about that. :)

Mommy Cracked- I can't say enough nice things about this blog. I love her layout. Her content is always entertaining and easy to identify with, and she just rocks.

Stinky John Jones- Yeah, you read it right. Val has something really special going on at Stinky John Jones. How could you not go just based on the title alone? Plus, she's a fellow Philly area mom blogger (PMB's as we like to call them).

Geez... the pressure...the pressure.... okay the last one is
Candid Carrie- Carrie is amazing. Really. If you ask her, she'll actually do tricks for you. Tell her I told you to ask. She'll really love me for that. But, meanwhile just go read her blog. It's really very good.
